The Herbert Matthews “Fidelileaks”
Jose Reyes
As all the Wikileaks unfold before our eyes and throughout the internet, many questions are raised. Why would someone be so eager to reveal and expose important “top secret” and delicate conversations conducted by the government of the United States? Why only concentrate with American espionage? Why make it a global issue? Why is this man, Julian Assange, so obsessed and so determine to be recognized as some sort of contemporary savior to society? He seems to have the enormous lack of differentiating between self-recognition and helping his fellow man for a good cause. Not to mention, the lack of responsibility and respect for others. Assange, in his own radical self-assessment, truly feels like a hero. He is not, of course. His release of these confidential files can easily be labeled in a court of law as an act of espionage. Espionage against the the United States of America. That crime is punishable by life imprisonment. It’s a direct attack on America and its allies. But if one feels it’s no big deal, then they are totally out of touch with reality. Mr. Assange is helping countries like Iran, North Korea, Russia, Venezuela, Russia, Cuba and many others gain access to critical information. If he is was really trying aid the helpless victims around the world, then why concentrate on America only? In this case here, his biased attack towards American policy is very obvious. There seems to be much of that going on lately, wouldn’t you agree? This brings me to a man named Herbert L. Matthews and his version of Wikileaks. His “Fidelileaks” as I call it, had the same intentions then, in the late 50′s as Assange has now. Basically, discrediting America and aiding all its enemies. Assange used the most powerful form of media technology in our time, the World Wide Web. Herbert Mathews used the most powerful form of media technology known in the late 50′s with his Fidelileaks, he used the world renown New York Times. He, as Assange, was a “useful Idiot” also. Before presenting the Fidelileaks, a biography of this “Whistleblower” would be appropriate in order to understand his craving for self-recognition and like Assange, his relentless struggle to become a savior to society:
Herbert Matthews worked as a journalist for the New York Times for 45 years. Starting as a secretary in the business office, Matthews rose to hold a position on the Times’ editorial board from 1949-1967. As a correspondent, he is most noted for his reporting from Spain during the Spanish Civil War and, much later, his editorials on Latin America. His 1957 interview with Fidel Castro was a journalistic coup, and Matthews’ articles about Castro did much to shape American opinion about him. Born in New York City on 10 January 1900, Matthews was raised and educated in that city until the age of 18. Matthews enlisted in the army to fight in the First World War, but arrived in France after hostilities had ceased. Returning to the United States at the conclusion of his tour of duty, Matthews entered Columbia University where he studied Romance languages and medieval history. Matthews intended to pursue a career in book publishing upon graduation in 1922…...Learn More or go directly to link here

These are the Fidelileaks of Herbert L. Matthews. His accounts of Fidel Castro, his mentor, his romantic political “Robin Hood.” Straight from an influential media platform with a word wide appeal, the New York Times. A perfect bias account, equipped with a one-sided view and with absolutely no facts to support it. Communist propaganda at its finest, by a socialist leftist lover. Every single article was written by Herbert Matthews himself. Fidel Castro invited this “Useful Idiot” to join his “isolated” soldiers and write a “Romantic Novel” in the form of newspaper articles. History shows Mr. Matthews’ admiration and vulnerability to Communist revolts and their leaders, is so obvious. A total historical fabrication and with absolutely no support to all the phony descriptions directly associated with the character and personality of Che Guevara and the Castro brothers. And unfortunately, it was the “only” information available to the “whole” world at the time, the Mainstream Media. But even more disturbing, it is overwhelming the same exact information that is published by the Mainstream Media now, concerning Fidel Castro and his regime. His well orchestrated detailed accounts reflects a greatly accepted romantic image of Fidel Castro and his pupils. These fantasy-like characteristics are found in every single Leftist-Socialist book published and every pro-Castro film ever produced. It is very clear to me that all the information gathered here in the Fidelileaks of Mr. Matthews of Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution is used as the guideline when gathering information. It would be so much appropriate for the clueless world public, to gather realistic and factual accounts from the ones who lived in Cuba then and the ones who have left Cuba since 1957. There are so many contradictory accounts from within the troops that occupied the Sierra Maestra and who valiantly fought to defend Fidel Castro’s image. There are many factual and detailed accounts which paint a much different and sinister picture of Fidel Castro available but then again, have been blocked for everyone to read and see by the Mainstream Media. The only account that is wrongfully and universally accepted, is this circus of manufactured lies written by this “Useful Idiot” by Herbert L. Matthews. The famous “Fidelileaks” as I chose to interpret it.
As from Mr. Assange, let’s demand some counter-American documents from countries like Russia, China, Cuba and even from the New York Times themselves, who make it their business to destroy all the liberties America offers. Let’s balance this scale of American criticism before it falls over from the weight of Communist Propaganda. Herbert L. Matthews placed Fidel Castro and his revolution on a pedestal and successfully managed to convince everyone outside of Cuba that this was the only way to eliminate Batista and his dictatorship. He was “Dead Wrong” with his assessments and should have been held accountable just like Mr. Assange is at the present moment.
A Che Guevara related excerpt from an article, named “Top Castro Aide Denies Red Tie”:
Nothing is mentioned about the “Butchering” which took place in “La Cabaña” fortress.
